John Pawsey (Band Drum Major)
John studied trombone at Giggleswick School under an Ex army Bandmaster,he was a drummer with the Cadets and a chorister in the chapel choir
He joined the Regimental Band of The Queen’s Own Hussars as a euphonium player and shortly after leaving the army he became a member of The Royal British Legion Band( Horsham) where he was a member for 15years before taking a break from brass playing.
John was a founder member of The Pride of Sussex Pipes and Drums, assuming the role of Quartermaster for a number of years before being appointed Drum Major.
A chance call from a friend and the current Bass Drummer of The Horsham RBL band inviting John to rejoin the Band as Drum Major has once again led to his return after a 15 year break
